The Flip Side

In my last post, I Give Up I talked about how important surrender is in my life. When I surrender my life works. For me, surrender only works if it goes hand in hand with trust. Starting April 12, 2021 through June 12, 2021 I wrote five posts about the value of trust. True surrender for me is only possible with trust. My post, Trust the Moment explains how I learned to deal with things as they are, not how I want them to be.

As I said in I Give Up, I make a surrender statement three times before I sit down to breakfast. Each one is followed by, “I Trust.” That provides commitment. I’m not looking over my shoulder, second guessing my surrender. I’m all in. Otherwise my surrender is hollow and I’m just fooling myself.

I’m not wise enough to know the mind of God. Being certain of how God works nullifies my surrender. Neil deGrasse Tyson said, “The universe is under no obligation to make sense to you.” I agree. That’s why trust is so important to me.

May you trust today, one moment at a time.
