Another Point of View

I enjoy cycling, but the streets in my neighborhood are narrow with no curbs, so I ride my bike on the left side of the street. I want to see the traffic that is closest to me. The oncoming cars almost always move to the other side of the street when approaching and give me plenty of room. The first time someone didn’t I thought, that jerk. I’m going to have to ride off the road. Just then somebody passed me from behind on the right side of the road. Then I understood. The oncoming car wasn’t able to move to the other side of the street without having a head one collision with the other car. Once I saw what they were looking at, things made sense.

I try to keep this in mind when I don’t understand someone else. Maybe they see something I don’t. That change in perception helps me navigate the narrow streets of my life much better.

May you have enough today, one moment at a time.
